“11 I speak not because of want: for I have learned in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
12 And I can be abased, and I can abound: everywhere in all things I am instructed, both to be full, and to be hungry, and to abound, and to have want.
13 I am able to do all things through the help of Christ, which strengtheneth me.”
Philippians 4: 11-13 (1599 Geneva Bible)
Though we lack many a temporal thing,
such as beds to the children,
cabinets, coat hooks,
and hot water from the tap . . .
we have so very much to be thankful for.
We have been given strength
during the hardest of times,
through Yahshua.
We are still far from living the sustainable life
we so desire,
but we are so much closer than we used to be.
And we know that He was, is, and will be with us
leading us,
changing us,
loving us . . .
so for that we can be forever thankful,
and content.

We are so thankful for our cook stove . . . our source of heat, hot water, and home cooked meals (and pot storage).

This “girly” craigslist find has been so helpful since we have no kitchen cabinets yet, except for . . . .

The children don’t seem to mind not having beds . . . they think “bin” beds are great! (We’re using storage bins as beds until we get bunk beds built).

My hope years ago was that our oldest, Caleb, would get to experience homestead life by the time he was 10 years old . . . he will soon be 12 and his experience of homestead life so far (beginning when he was 10) has been mostly hard work and toil (as above, where he was hauling block to our root cellar hole to stack along the side that’s eroding). But, when asked if he would choose this way of life over the way we used to live, he said he would choose this way . . . that makes me feel so blessed!
May your 2015 be blessed with many opportunities to make much of Creator Yahweh as you love Him and love others!
Blessings,
